Actor Arun Bali passes away at the age of 79
years in Mumbai
Arun Bali, a seasoned actor who had Myasthenia Gravis, a neuromuscular condition, died
on October 7 in Mumbai at
the age of 79.
An autoimmune condition
called myasthenia gravis is brought on by poor nerve
-muscle communication.
In the 1991 historical drama Chanakya, he portrayed King Porus. He also played Kunwar Singh in the Doordarshan soap opera Swabhimaan.
the divisive and lauded 2000
movie Hey Ram, Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy, as the Chief Minister of undivided Bengal.
Arun Bali rose to fame for playing "grandfatherly" characters like Harshvardhan Wadhwa in Kumkum, and in the 2000s, he even won accolades for them.
He is also a producer who has
won a National Award.
Bali's son Ankush said in an exclusive interview with
Hindustan Times in February
2022 that he doesn't want his father to pass away at home.
Ankush reported that although
his father was benefiting from
the medication, he passed
away at around 4.30 am.
