Christina Aguilera updates 'Beautiful'  music video for 2022

A new music video for Christina Aguilera's song "Beautiful" addresses the devastation that social media can have on youngsters.

In honour of World Mental Health Day on October 10 and the 20th anniversary of her album "Stripped," the singer released  the video on Wednesday.

The music video for "Beautiful (2022 Version)" shows people battling with self-love in a  society, carrying the same  uplifting message as the  music video from 2002.

Unreachable ideals of beauty Social media, however, adds a  new level of scrutiny in 2022.

In the updated version, Aguilera sings, "You are lovely, in every single way," as little ones take selfies and gaze at endless cosmetic instructions that emphasise plastic surgery.

To indicate that they are about  to change, lines are drawn on children, but by the end,  everyone has removed them.

The youngsters in the music  video eventually give up their phones and go outside to play  and embrace who they are naturally.

"Turn on and tune out. Put  your mind, body, and soul first, take some space, and log  off, Aguilera urged in a tweet  she sent on October 10 to  promote the new  music video.

Since "Stripped" was initially published 20 years ago, social media has changed how we  view our bodies, which has a negative impact on our mental health.
