'House of the Dragon' ends Season 1 with  major death

As seen in the "House of the Dragon" season finale, "The  Black Queen," Rhaenyra  Targaryen finds life as  queen to be terrible.

Rhaenyra (Emma D'Arcy)  learns that her father King  Viserys (Paddy Considine) has passed away on a gloomy day.

Moreover, her former childhood best friend Queen Alicent Hightower seized the kingdom  by installing her evil son  Aegon II Targaryen as ruler.

As a cherry on top, Rhaenyra  is informed that the Hightowers are pursuing her and her kids.

The upsetting news induces Rhaenyra's early labour, which results in yet another heartbreaking "House of the Dragon" delivery scene.  Rhaenyra is expecting her  sixth child.

With her husband Daemon by  her side, Rhaenyra's stillborn child's funeral and cremation becomes her coronation.

Following the solemn event,  Ser Erryk Cargyll displays the Viserys crown while swearing allegiance to Queen Rhaenyra.

My queen," Daemon says as  he bows to his wife and sets  the crown on her head.

However, it is the husband, Daemon, who starts arguing with the wife about the war plans.
