Los Angeles Chargers survive in overtime vs. Denver Broncos

The AFC West matchup that concluded Week 6 was a heated contest that required overtime.

The Denver Broncos took an  early 10-0 lead and never trailed for the remaining four quarters.

As overtime began in the Monday night match, all 16 points were knotted. Denver's Montrell Washington botched a punt on the second possession in overtime,

Dustin Hopkins, the Chargers' kicker, made a game-winning  field goal from 39 yards out  to give his team a 19-16  victory.

The Chargers managed to  defeat a stout Broncos defence, but it wasn't beautiful.

Justin Herbert only managed  a 66.3 passer rating while  passing for 238 yards.

Hopkins hit the game-winning  39-yard field goal in overtime despite a sore hamstring. He attempted four field goals, going perfect 4-for-4.

Hopkins noted following the  game, "It's more fun when you  win when you struggle through  an injury because you feel like  it was worth something."

Hopkins' performance was the Chargers kicker's most  successful game of field  goals without a miss  since 2019.
