Miami's first season under new coach just keeps getting worse

Miami had other reasons for wooing Mario Cristobal away  from Oregon than merely the massive infusion of cash into  the football programme.

Not just one graduate who understands what it means  to be "All About The U" was brought home.

It wasn't simply the idea of  playing against all those South Florida star recruits who were running away to other  programmes that made  it appealing.

Under first-year head coach  Mike Elko, Duke is just one  victory away from earning  bowl eligibility.

Under first-year head coach  and former offensive lineman  for the Hurricanes Mario  Cristobal, Miami is now 3-4.

On Saturday afternoon at Miami Gardens, the Blue Devils  defeated the Canes 45–21.

With one more victory, Duke  will have reached its important sixth victory and will be 5-3 overall.

Their best chances are to defeat Virginia Tech at home in three weeks or Boston College in Chestnut Hill in two weeks.

After that, beating Pittsburgh  on the road could be challenging, and hosting Wake Forest will be quite challenging.
