Ten Hag Explains United Team to Face Omonia

Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, has provided an explanation of his starting lineup for this evening's Europa League match against Omonia Nicosia at the GSP Stadium.

In order to cut the gap on Real Sociedad at the top of Group E, the Reds have fielded a formidable lineup against the Cypriot Cup champions.

In the starting lineup from Sunday's Manchester derby, eight players are still present, with Victor Lindelof coming up to fill in for the injured Raphael Varane at centre defence.

In place of Scott McTominay, Casemiro started the game from the beginning for just the second time since signing this summer.

While Cristiano Ronaldo takes the field in place of Marcus Rashford and will be attempting to score his second goal in as many Europa League games.

Young people like Facundo Pellistri, Zidane Iqbal, and Alejandro Garnacho join them in the hopes that, if everything goes well, they will be able to contribute in some way to the game.

On Sunday, United takes on Everton in the Premier League,  but Erik wanted to stress the significance of three points  on the continent first.
