Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen divorce after 13 years of marriage

After 13 years of marriage,  NFL great Tom Brady and supermodel Gisele Bündchen  have officially divorced.

On Friday morning, they both released comments to social media announcing the news.

The decision was made  "amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together," according to 42-year-old Bündchen.

They would continue to  collaborate as parents,  he continued.

In a statement published on Instagram, Bündchen said:  "We have become increasingly estranged, and while it is  never easy to decide to.  end a marriage,

I'm grateful for the time we  spent together and only have  the best wishes for Tom in the future."

After dating for two years,  Brady and Bündchen  exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony in Santa Monica, California, in February 2009.

They have two kids together, Benjamin (12) and Vivian (9). Brady also has a 15-year-old  son named John from an  earlier union with the  actress Bridget Moynihan.

Brady earned three MVP  awards and six Super Bowls  during his 20 seasons with  the New England Patriots,  where he also played.

In his first season after joining Tampa Bay in 2020, he guided  the Buccaneers to their first championship in 18 years,  which was his eighth Super  Bowl victory.
