Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen divorce after 13 years of marriage
After 13 years of marriage, NFL great Tom Brady and supermodel Gisele Bündchen have officially divorced.
On Friday morning, they both released comments to social media announcing the news.
The decision was made "amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together," according to 42-year-old Bündchen.
They would continue to collaborate as parents, he continued.
In a statement published on Instagram, Bündchen said: "We have become increasingly estranged, and while it is never easy to decide to. end a marriage,
I'm grateful for the time we spent together and only have the best wishes for Tom in the future."
After dating for two years, Brady and Bündchen exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony in Santa Monica, California, in February 2009.
They have two kids together, Benjamin (12) and Vivian (9). Brady also has a 15-year-old son named John from an earlier union with the actress Bridget Moynihan.
Brady earned three MVP awards and six Super Bowls during his 20 seasons with the New England Patriots, where he also played.
In his first season after joining Tampa Bay in 2020, he guided the Buccaneers to their first championship in 18 years, which was his eighth Super Bowl victory.
